The Kennedys Premiere

The Kennedys, a mini-series starring Katie Holmes as Jackie O, finally found a home on ReelzChannel. It had been originally slated to premiere on the History channel, but objections to the mini-series historical accuracy led the network to drop it. Starz, FX, and Showtime also rejected the series.

It’s no surprise then that the premiere of the much talked about series received a lot of attention. I even saw an article analyzing what Katie Holmes wore to the event. In case you were wondering, she wore a blue dress by Ralph Lauren and nude strappy sandals. As the spring and summer premiere season goes on, I’m sure we’ll see many celebrities rocking sandals and foot jewelry.

Sunny to Snowfall

I just got back from a tropical vacation. When I left my home in New York there was typical spring weather; 60 degrees and sunny. There was even a day when the high reached 77 degrees!

Imagine my shock when I returned to see that it had snowed! Sure, it was only a dusting, but isn’t March supposed to go out like a lamb not a lion? It’s almost as if the universe was laughing at me for frolicking on sandy beaches and stocking up on gorgeous discount sandals. Still, I think I’ll have the last laugh when I have beautiful sandals to wear every day of the week during the summer months.

Sexy Prom Foot Jewelry For Dancing Barefoot in Style

Barefoot Sandals for Prom

Years ago I remember finding the perfect prom dress and matching high heels. I felt so beautiful and grown up. But when the music started playing and we danced a couple of songs, those tootsies were in agony. So those beautiful shoes came off  and I was dancing comfortably in my bare feet. Every one’s feet looked the same.

Strapped High Heels & Barefoot Sandals

Times have changed and the Prom options for teenagers and young adults are endless. But traditions remain and our young adults are more beautiful than ever. One new womens comfort sandals option is barefoot sandals for women. These sexy sandals are versatile enough to wear with simple strapped high heels as foot jewelry in three ways (ankle bracelets or foot jewelry). When the dance begins they are beautiful barefoot sandals and every one’s bare feet still look different and still match their dress. Now the girls take pictures of their shoes together with their foot jewelry and also take one of their beautiful bare feet together for two lasting memories of their special evening.

Beach Friendly Reward

The school that my daughter attends gives out summer homework packets. These usually include a reading list of five books with a book report due the first week of classes. Math exercises are also included to keep those arithmetic skills sharp during the break. Getting a child to complete their assigned tasks when they’d rather be out playing in the sun is a difficult endeavor. One of the ways I motivate my daughter to complete her work is through a reward system. When she completes all of her assignments I buy her decorative childrens sandals. The beaded jewelry is age appropriate and lasts a lot longer than cheap toe rings and ankle bracelets. Some might view the gift as a bribe, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little positive reinforcement of good study habits.

Footprints in the Sand

If you have ever had the opportunity to take a child to a sandy beach for the first time, you remember how excited they were to play barefoot in the sand. They may not have noticed the beauty of the water or the waves strolling in from the ocean. How long did the kids sandals stay on their feet? The sand left an impression in their minds. “When can we go to the beach again Mommy?”

I think back to the days at the beach with my kids. They loved to bury my feet and see me wiggle my toes out of the deep pile of sand. When they got up the nerve to get near the water they enjoyed making footprints in the sand to see how long it would take the waves to take them away. The look on their faces and the giggles left me with an unforgettable memory.

As adults we tend to lose the excitement about sandy beaches. As a teenager I was annoyed when sand was kicked on my towel. As an parent I swept sand from the condo,  shook sandy towels, and started wearing flip flops. Finding barefoot womens sandals brought all those wonderful memories back to life. I began to see the thrill of sand beneath my feet and the fun of getting sandy. When I take my grandchildren to the beach we let our feet free and play the same games I played with my kids. I’m a kid again leaving footprints in the sand. “Let’s go the beach again kids!”

Family Footwear Fun

I think it’s important for parents to spend one-on-one time with each child. While on vacation I took my daughter out to the boardwalk for some mommy-daughter time. We bought matching beach barefoot sandals made with colorful beads. When my kindergarten age son saw them he decided that he wanted a pair as well. When it was time for mommy-son time I let him pick out some beach footwear. He wisely pointed out that dad would feel left out if he were the only one who didn’t have a pair. I told him that was very thoughtful and let him pick out a pair of beach footwear for his dad. That evening we all wore our matching beach footwear when we went out for ice cream.

Flower Girls and Ring Bearers Beach Wedding Sandals

Over the years I’ve spent many a sunny Saturday afternoon at a wedding. It is so wonderful to see children in the wedding party. And lately, barefoot seems to be a popular option for these toddlers at a wedding; beach or no beach! They always create smiles on the wedding guests. In some cases a few laughs or giggles are heard when the flower girl or ring bearer do something unexpected as they make their way to the bride and groom.

Finding kids attire to match the bridesmaids and groomsmen attire for your wedding can sometime be a difficult task. Our children’s version of any of our adult barefoot sandals and/or ankle bracelets (women or men) will guarantee the entire wedding party will match perfectly; making this task a ‘piece of wedding cake!’ The childrens sandals collection are also a fun alternative for the kids in a wedding, as well as a great wedding gift.

The wedding guests will smile seeing the kids feet decorated with barefoot sandals matching the beach wedding party. But best of all, you will have smiling memories of the big grins on your flower girl and ring bearer’s faces. They were walking proud because they felt just like the big kids with their Big Kids Beach Barefoot Sandals!

Beach Wedding Jewelry

We met while surfing and spend most of our time together hitting the waves, so when my husband and I got married, it seemed only natural to have a beach wedding. The relaxed, casual atmosphere of a beach wedding is definitely more our speed than a more traditional, formal wedding. Keeping with the relaxed vibe, I told my bridesmaids that they could wear whatever color sundresses they wanted. The only thing that was uniform about their appearance was the foot jewelry I gave each of them.

No one likes getting sand in their shoes, so everyone in the bridal party went barefoot. I found gorgeous bridesmaids beach sandals that I knew my girls would love. The pearl with silver accent barefoot beach sandals I bought them were stylish and affordable. It felt like the perfect thank you to my bridesmaids for being wonderful friends and for being there on my big day.

Footwear for a Night on the Town

Evening Elegance with Strappy Sandal

Now that I’m older and busy with work, the time I spend with my friends is even more valuable to me. We do our best to schedule a girls’ night at least once a month. It’s a time when we can go out for dinner and dancing. We can just hang out, gab, and let girls be girls!

Last time we went out dancing was over the summer and I wanted to show off my pedicure and new strappy heels. To spice up my footwear I wore beaded barefoot sandals. The foot jewelry made of classic cream pearls and jet black beads were absolutely stunning and perfectly complemented by little black dress. The girls loved the beaded barefoot sandals and vowed to order some for themselves.
